SUMMARY: The Electronics Engineer plays a critical role in the design, development, and optimization of electronic hardware solutions, ensuring seamless integration with embedded systems. This position involves translating marketing and product requirements into functional circuit designs, collaborating with firmware and software teams, and troubleshooting complex hardware issues. The engineer will be responsible for developing and testing electronic circuits, designing printed circuit boards, and working with wireless communication technologies such as GPS, cellular, and RF systems. Additionally, the role requires adapting hardware for regulatory compliance and market-specific needs while working within a globally diverse team.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Those duties are necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Consult with marketing and software engineers to ensure the circuit meets requirements.
  • Translate marketing requirements into clear, traceable design objectives for electronic hardware.
  • Collaborate closely with the embedded firmware team to ensure seamless product functionality.
  • Designs, verifies, and implements printed circuit board schematics and layouts.
  • Analyze returned embedded assemblies to identify root cause failures and resolve potential quality issues.
  • Assists support group production test (local and remote). 
  • Design and develop embedded systems leveraging cellular, GPS, WiFi, motion sensors, IR sensors, and a variety of other technologies.
  • Interfaces with vendors for electronic components and solutions.
  • Adapt existing hardware designs for optimal performance within the US market. 
  • Engineer replacements for end-of-life IC parts and integrate into production.
  • Working knowledge of processes for FCC, and cellular certifications.
  • This role will work with a Globally diverse team

 Proficient with:

  • Altium Designer.
  • RF Spectrum Analyzer equipment.
  • RF Network Analyzer equipment.
  • Precision DVM equipment.
  • High-frequency oscilloscope equipment.
  • Soldering equipment.
  • Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Google Office tools.

Knowledge and Skills REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year college preferred.
  •  Minimum of five years’ relevant work experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  •  RF System Level Design Engineering experience
  •  Experience with low-power design devices using lithium batteries.
  • GPS Experience
  • Cellular Communications Experience (Data & Voice)

 Knowledge and Skills PREFERRED:

  • Experience with Anechoic Chamber.
  • RF Engineering of sub-gig frequencies and cellular communications.
  • Experience with implementing cellular technologies for the US Marketplace.
  • SMT Rework
  • IoT Experience, specifically wearable devices.
  • Certification experience with some of the following: EMC, EC, UK CA, and Anatel.
