SUMMARY

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems. This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams, creating 3D models and detailed drawings, performing engineering analysis, and supporting manufacturing and testing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, excellent CAD skills, and a passion for innovation.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Those duties are necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems, considering factors such as functionality, manufacturability, cost, and reliability.
  • Create 3D models and detailed 2D drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD).
  • Perform engineering analysis to validate designs and optimize performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure successful product development.
  • Develop and execute test plans to verify design performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and engineering change orders.
  • Stay up to date on the latest technologies and advancements in mechanical engineering.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and participate in problem-solving activities.

  • Practical application understanding of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, such as machining, casting, and injection molding.

Formal Education, Licenses, and Certifications Required:

  •  Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college/technical school preferred

 Type and Length of Specific Experience Required:

  •  Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing/design
